Operating profit for Q3 plunged to EUR 27 million from EUR 56 million, primarily due to a fall in ethanol prices, despite higher production volumes and lower raw material costs. Total production for nine months lagged the previous year at 722,000 cubic meters, with revenue falling by 20% to EUR 943 million, and operating profit declining by EUR 175 million due to price effects and volume reductions. The company maintains a strong net financial assets position of EUR 320 million. For 2023/24, revenue is expected between EUR 1.23-1.25 billion, with operating profit projected at EUR 50-60 million and EBITDA at EUR 85-105 million, acknowledging potential losses due to unstable ethanol prices. The firm emphasized its commitment to a biorefinery strategy and announced the acquisition of EthaTec GmbH to bolster its 2G ethanol production from food waste. Additionally, a public delisting tender offer of EUR 11.50 per share has been presented by Südzucker.
