Leclanché SA designs, develops, and manufactures customized and turnkey energy storage solutions for electricity generation and transmission, mass transportation, heavy industrial machines and specialty battery systems. The company is headquartered in Yverdon-Les-Bains, Vaud and currently employs 250 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2010-03-26. The firm is organized into three business segments: the Portable segment conceives, develops and carries out turn-key solutions for storage of portable electrical power for specific applications; the Distribution segment commercializes batteries, as well as accessories, such as flashlights and small chargers, and the Stationary segment produces lithium ion cells and systems for high-end applications, and the segment includes automotive, stationary and off-road divisions. The Company’s wholly owned subsidiaries includes Germany-based Leclanche GmbH, which is engaged in manufacturing of lithium ion batteries, and Trineuron, which develops lithium battery management systems (BMS) and module designs for transport applications. The firm operates in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and the United States.
