RBC Bearings, Inc. engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of engineered precision bearings and products. The company is headquartered in Oxford, Connecticut and currently employs 2,990 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2005-08-10. The company operates through four segments: Plain Bearings; Roller Bearings; Ball Bearings, and Engineered Products. Its Plain bearings are primarily used to rectify inevitable misalignments in various mechanical components, such as aircraft controls, helicopter rotors, or heavy mining and construction equipment. Its Roller Bearings are anti-friction products that utilize cylindrical rolling elements. Its Roller Bearings include tapered roller bearings, needle roller bearings and needle bearing track rollers and cam followers. Its Ball bearings are devices that utilize high precision ball elements to reduce friction in high speed applications. Its Engineered products consist primarily of engineered hydraulics and valves, fasteners, precision mechanical components and machine tool collets.
