Despite a 3.8% decline in net sales to $4.9 billion for Q2 2024, Macy's achieved an adjusted EPS of $0.53, well above its outlook of $0.25-$0.33, thanks to strong expense controls and a shift to cost accounting. While sales were slightly below expectations, improved gross margins and proactive cost management helped offset the impact. Macy's expects FY 2024 net sales of $22.1-22.4 billion, with a focus on operational agility and disciplined execution to navigate a challenging discretionary consumer environment. The full-year adjusted EPS guidance remains $2.55-$2.90.
