The Bank invests in various types of investment securities, including United States Treasury obligations, securities of various Federal agencies, certificates of deposits of insured banks and savings institutions, municipal securities, corporate debt securities and loans to other banking institutions. Deposits are the source of the Bank's funds for lending and other investment purposes. Its deposit products include certificates of deposit accounts, checking, savings and money market accounts. The banks also originate commercial real estate, home equity, consumer and commercial loans.
