The company is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan. The company went IPO on 2005-12-16. The firm operates through two segments: Property rental and Hotel. The Property rental segment is engaged in leasing of hotel properties. The Hotel segment is engaged in operating hotel business. The firm operates in three main geographical areas, including Malaysia, Japan and Australia. The company owns approximately 15 hospitality properties, over 10 in Malaysia, approximately three in Australia and over two in Japan. Malaysian properties are located in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Perak, Terengganu and Penang. The Australian properties are located in Sydney in New South Wales, Brisbane in Queensland and Melbourne in Victoria. The Japanese properties are located in the Niseko area of the island of Hokkaido. Its subsidiaries include Starhill REIT Niseko G.K., Starhill Hospitality REIT (Australia) Sdn. Bhd. and YTL REIT MTN Sdn. Bhd.
