Mercury NZ Ltd. engages in the generation and distribution of electricity from hydro, geothermal, and gas. The firm is an electricity retailor and generator, which is engaged in providing energy services to homes, businesses and industrial customers throughout New Zealand. The firm's segments include Energy Markets and Other Segments. The Energy Markets segment encompasses activities associated with the production, sale and trading of energy and related services and products, and generation development activities. The Other Segments includes metering and international geothermal development and operations. The firm sells electricity, through multiple retail brands, including GLOBUG, Tiny Mighty and Bosco. Its generation consists of two fuel sources: hydro and geothermal. The company operates approximately nine hydro plants along the Waikato River. The firm supplies metering infrastructure and services to the utility sector across New Zealand.
